3rd YESA Workshop
"Properties of hydrogen and water in the Earth and planetary interiors examined by experimental and theoretical approaches"
Date: September 2-3, 2010, Venue: Ehime University, Japan
Posters: Outline, Program
The Young Earth Scientist Association (YESA) of the Global COE program organized the 3rd YESA workshop on 2-3 September, 2010. This workshop aimed to have a discussion about the properties of hydrogen and water in Earth and planetary interiors, based on high-pressure experimental studies and numerical simulations. New interpretations of the physical and chemical properties of hydrogen and water were suggested, and their implications for the internal dynamics in the Earth and planets were discussed through the workshop. Many young scientists attended the workshop and eleven young scientists from Tohoku Univ., Okayama Univ., Osaka Univ., Japan Atomic Energy Agency, and Univ. Tokyo were invited. The interdisciplinary fourteen topics were given and the workshop was successful with extensive discussions. Also, the discussions and communications among the young scientists were continued at a barbecue party at Ehime Univ.
