　Mao博士は、世界中で用いられているダイヤモンドアンビル装置（DAC）の開発者とし て著名です。地球科学はもちろん、水素の金属化等物理学分野でも極めて大きな業績 をあげ、ブリッジマンメダルを始め多くの賞を受賞し、アメリカ物理学会、アメリカ 地球物理連合等のフェローの称号を受けております。同博士による集中講義は我が国 ではもちろん世界で最初であり、この機会に地球科学、物理学、材料科学等多くの分 野の高圧力に関心のある研究者・学生の皆様のご参加と活発な討論を期待いたします 。また、あわせて高圧物理学に関連した最新の話題についてのセミナーも予定してお ります。
